I have had such an eventful end to June! It has been a little sad, a lot happy, and very busy.
The weeks have been the usual, school, work, homework. Not much time for fun. I can definitely say that is one perk I am looking forward to after tomorrow....free time in which I do not have to study and can do something fun...like read some books!
Father's Day weekend my parents went to Travis's Dad's and step mom's house for a cookout. We had such a great time and our parents get along so well! Then Amanda and I went and saw Sex and the City 2. Love getting some sissy time! :) Sunday, Daddy golfed and Amanda worked. So that left mom and I all alone. We took two naps and went shopping in between. A perfect Sunday if you ask me!
Last Thursday was my last day babysitting for the Martin's. The kids were wonderful and made me even sadder to leave. I think they should have pitched fits or been difficult and had me running for the door! ;) But of course not! Theo curled up on my chest and snuggled and took a nap. And the kids played in the blow up pool all afternoon. They just melted my heart and you can tell they love their new brother so much! When I left I got lots of hugs and had to not cry....I just feel like they are a ****
little
**** bit mine. You know when you spend so much time with them and watch them grow and learn new things. I am also so happy that I got to see sweet Theo join their family! Such a beautiful family that has been a great role model! So much love and happiness there.
Later that night Travis came to Athens and we went out with Megan and some of the boys. It was so nice to hang out with them all. I love my roomies so much and truly hope we all end up close together so we can still hang out all the time.
The weekend was so busy, but so fun! Saturday morning I headed to Piedmont Park to do the Atlanta Pride 5k with my friend Jeffrey. We had a great time....but did not pace ourselves at all! We did the first mile in 7:35 and ended up slowing down a lot. So gotta keep that in mind for the Peachtree.
Then I headed to Travis' so we could take his niece, Kinsley, and nephew, Ethan, to see Toy Story 3. I have been dying to see it since the second I saw the first preview...yes I know I am like a 5 year old! We decided to grab the kids to go with us for a fun outing. They were WONDERFUL!! I was a little worried at first, but they were so perfect and have got me totally and utterly wrapped around their fingers! I just love being Aunt Kat and getting to take them to do something fun. Ethan was too small for his chair but seemed to like it and Kinsley was good until about the last 30 min. I could tell she was getting restless. She sat in my lap and was great though!
That night Trav and I had a nice quiet date night. I was so tired and loved that he cooked me dinner and we just watched some Californication. (Such a great show by the way...sooo raunchy, but funny too.)
Sunday was another busy day. I got up early and went to church with Jill and Ethan and Aiden. They boys were so cute and seemed excited to play with their church friends. Being a Presbyterian, Jill's church is very different! The music is more modern and they have a band and it is bigger and much more casual. But I don't feel too uncomfortable and have really enjoyed the sermon both times. I would love to go to St. Luke's, but if I am all the way out in Dallas, I would rather try something new then not go at all.
Then we went to Chuck-E-Cheese for Ethan's birthday party. He just turned 4. SO crazy! When Travis and I first started dating, he was an only child, had just turned 1, and was learning to walk!!! Time flies! Trav and I played lots of games and had a great time! I was so sleepy by the end that I went home and napped for a couple hours.
Later that night Amanda and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert. It was their tenth anniversary tour and was AWESOME!!! Too bad all the people around us were crazy. The people to the left were too busy making sure no on walked on their blanket to watch the show. I mean come on, you are on the lawn...if you are picky about your seats, but some actual seats and go sit there. Such funsuckers! Then the people to the right had a girl who was so drunk she was puking everywhere and then was lying on the ground passed out...way to hold your liquor! BUT other than that, AWESOME show! I love them and I love that Amanda and I do it every year. It is so nice to have a sister thing to do together. It is so nice to spend a whole evening with my best friend!
And now the end of the week and the end of college is approaching. It has still not sunk in that I am done. ONE MORE TEST TOMORROW and it is over!!! I am guessing it will take a few weeks to sink in completely though. Moving out tomorrow and heading home for a few months. Hopefully Trav and I can find a place that we can afford in the next 3-4 months! Can't wait for that adventure! :)
Let's see a couple reviews:
Just finished Julie and Julia and had the same problem with it that I did with the movie...I think Julie whines too much. I mean you are just cooking! I felt that it was just her complaining about everything. It was cute and I am glad I read it, but that part did bother me a bit!
Movie wise, Sex and the City was cute. I think you have to have watched the show to have some background. But if you liked the show, I think you would like the movie!
Also, Toy Story 3....AMAZING!!! Pixar did such a great job making each of those movies amazing. I just LOVED it and did cry a bit! :) But what movie DON'T I cry at!
I have some pictures, but am not on a computer with them, so I will add a post later with some pictures.
Thanks for reading!!
