Memorial Day Weekend was so much fun. My parents, sister, her friend Becca, Travis, and I went to Amelia Island for a beach trip. It was in celebration of my graduation. Travis and I left Athens around 5:30 on Thursday evening. It was a long drive because it was so late at night, but we had almost no traffic since we took state highways to get to I-16. We laid out by the ocean everyday and I got to get some reading done and not worry about school. Travis and dad went golfing Saturday and Sunday and mom and I went for some morning walks. Mom cooked two nights, but Saturday we went out to dinner with my grandparents. They live in Jacksonville so it was a relatively short drive for them to meet us. It was so good to see them and be able to see how good they look. With all of their recent health issues, it is nice to see that they are hangin in there. The one problem to our trip is that poor Travis got a rash that looked like poison ivy, but it just continued to spread. He finally went to the doctor and did some research online. Seems like he had an allergic reaction to something. Mango can have a similar reaction to poison ivy and that was really the only new thing Travis had eaten in the past week. But he got some medicine and is doing much better.
The week has been good so far. I got home yesterday for a two day break. Today I went into Target to accept their job offer, fill out paper work, get a drug test, and meet everyone. Seems like a great culture and lots of good people. I am so excited to get started there! I will start orientation the week of July 5th, yay! :)
Also got a haircut today, finally. So nice to have a fresh cut.
Some reviews:
I finished Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. It was soooo slow in the beginning, but ended up being a very interesting book. Not my favorite, but glad I finished it. We also watched Braveheart this weekend..I know, I know you can't believe I have never seen it...but I loooooved it! Such a great movie! If you haven't seen it you must!
